NEW DELHI: England all-rounder Tom Curran has finally addressed the viral reports claiming he “cried like a child” at the airport amid the recent India-Pakistan tensions that disrupted international cricket schedules, including the Pakistan Super League (PSL). “I’m glad to see things resuming, and I pray for continued peace between two very special countries,” he wrote, referring to the de-escalation of the situation. In a humorous tone, he added, “Btw promise, I didn’t cry; was ready,” playfully dismissing the claims.
The controversy began when Rishad, in an interview with Cricbuzz, stated that Tom Curran was seen crying uncontrollably at the airport when flights were suspended, and that it took “two or three people to calm him down.” He also alleged that New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell vowed not to return to Pakistan due to the incident. However, facing backlash and realising the gravity of his words, Rishad Hossain later issued a formal apology. “A recent comment I made has been misrepresented, creating a false perception. It lacked context and unintentionally overstated the emotions involved,” he said.
