The NSUI was leading in three posts of the Delhi University Students' Union elections, as the counting of votes is underway. NSUI's presidential candidate Rounak Khatri was leading after five rounds of counting with a total of 5,531 votes. Joint secretary candidate Lokesh Choudhary was leading by 6,065 votes and secretary candidate Namrata Jeph Meena by 4,425 votes. ABVP's Bhanu Pratap Singh was leading on the vice-president post by 6,101 votes.

Delhi University has asked all candidates contesting the students' union elections to sign an affidavit pledging to refrain from using dhols, loudspeakers, firecrackers or pamphlets, both in open and closed premises, after the declaration of results, according to officials. DUSU poll results are likely to be announced on Monday. The affidavit also prohibits candidates from organising roadshows or rallies to celebrate their victory. According to the affidavit, failure to comply with these conditions can result in the cancellation of a candidate's victory or removal from their elected post.

The Delhi High Court had instructed the university to ensure all defaced areas were restored and to submit a status report before proceeding with the vote count. The court had set a deadline of November 26 for the completion of counting. Delhi High Court had stalled the declaration of results until the defacement caused during the campaign was cleaned up. Although the university submitted a status report to the court, delays in the cleanup process forced further postponements, moving the results first to Nov 21 and now to Nov 25.

The delay is attributed to the ongoing efforts to address the widespread defacement caused during the election campaigns. Over 190 locations across the university were identified for clean-up. An inspection committee found that despite significant progress, several areas were still not fully cleaned, prompting the postponement.
