Actress and athlete Saiyami Kher has stepped away from the hectic pace of Mumbai and her demanding shoot schedule to return to her roots in Nashik. There, she has immersed herself in focused training for the upcoming Ironman 70.3 European Championship in Sweden—one of the world’s toughest endurance challenges.
This marks Saiyami’s second consecutive year participating in the international Ironman circuit. Following her impressive finish in the 2024 half Ironman, she’s now setting her sights on an even more demanding race. Known for her disciplined lifestyle and unwavering commitment to fitness, Saiyami chose Nashik—her hometown—for its serene environment and rugged terrain, offering the ideal setting for high-intensity training.
“I’ve been shooting for an upcoming South film but I needed a break—not to rest, but to go all in on my Ironman prep,” Saiyami shared. “The Sweden course is a whole new level. The elevation, the terrain—it’s a different beast. Coming to Nashik has been an eye-opener. Swimming in the lake, cycling the hills, running long—it’s pushed me to train harder. I’ve been putting in over four hours a day, and it’s intense but incredibly fulfilling.” As she continues her journey, Saiyami remains grounded yet ambitious. “I wanted to conquer another 70.3 before even thinking of a full Ironman. Fingers crossed,” she added with a smile.
With her eyes set on Sweden, Saiyami is embracing the challenge with grit, heart, and the spirit of an athlete who’s just getting started.
