John Cena addressed the backlash that erupted after he decided to stand in Vince McMahon's corner amidst his legal troubles.Behind his larger-than-life Super Cena persona, John Cena is an individual like any other and has a right to have an opinion.He used his right to make it clear that he would be firmly in the corner of his former boss, Vince McMahon, despite the allegations he was facing from former WWE employee Janel Grant. The 17-time Champion faced a major backlash from fans regarding his stand and decided to break his silence.

In an interview with US Weekly, John Cena stated that like him, every individual is entitled to have their own opinion. He said that he had an emotional connection with Vince McMahon and was not surprised by the fans' reactions upon his statement of being in McMahon's corner.
He said, “Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. Just like I’m entitled to have an emotional connection to somebody. I don’t hold anybody or how they feel or what they view as permissible or things that’ll make them angry, happy, excited, sad. That’s their right as a human being. I’m not surprised about any of that.”
John Cena's comments stem from the fact that he owed a large part of his career and major success to Vince McMahon, who helped him become a household name worldwide. The former WWE Chairman was accused of sex trafficking and sexual misconduct by Janel Grant, who also accused former EVP John Laurinaitis. The case is currently in a Connecticut court.On the other hand, John Cena is thriving on the final run of his WWE career. He began his farewell tour at the start of the year, shocked the world by turning heel, and won his record-setting 17th World Championship at WrestleMania 41. The Face that Runs the Place recently made his first successful title defense against his historic rival, Randy Orton.
